Krysten Bio

“The Reformed Trial Attorney" was founded in 2016 by Florida licensed attorney Krysten (Pogue) Patel. Krysten gained a passion for legal research and writing during law school at St. Thomas University School of Law (Miami), where she earned numerous CALI top student awards and served as a Staff Editor on the Law Review. After graduating fourth in her class, Krysten enjoyed three years as a litigator and advocate working as an Assistant State Attorney. Yet she realized that spending the vast majority of her time in depositions, trial, meetings, conferences, and hearings required of litigators left little time in the day (or night) to write thorough, well-researched, expertly crafted pleadings and motions.

It was with this mindset that Krysten set out to provide in-depth research and well-reasoned motions, pleadings, and other legal drafting to other legal professionals. Krysten has drafted motions and pleadings in a variety of civil subjects including: landlord-tenant; commercial litigation; maritime & admiralty; business litigation; replevin; personal injury; contested probate proceedings; and foreclosure.

In addition, Krysten handles post-conviction relief issues, criminal appeals, and other state and federal criminal law motions. Krysten’s dual background of trial experience founded on legal writing skills make her an excellent motion drafting asset for the attorneys we serve at
