THE "REFORMED TRIAL ATTORNEY" 

MotionDrafting.com was founded in 2016 by Florida licensed attorney Krysten (Pogue) Patel. Krysten gained a passion for legal research and writing during law school at St. Thomas University School of Law (Miami), where she earned numerous CALI top student awards and served as a Staff Editor on the Law Review. After graduating fourth in her class, Krysten enjoyed three years as a litigator and advocate working as an Assistant State Attorney. Yet she realized that spending the vast majority of her time in depositions, trial, meetings, conferences, and hearings required of litigators left little time in the day (or night) to write thorough, well-researched, expertly crafted pleadings and motions.

It was with this mindset that Krysten set out to provide in-depth research and well-reasoned motions, pleadings, and other legal drafting to other legal professionals. Krysten has drafted motions and pleadings in a variety of civil subjects including: landlord-tenant; commercial litigation; maritime & admiralty; business litigation; replevin; personal injury; contested probate proceedings; and foreclosure.

In addition, Krysten handles post-conviction relief issues, criminal appeals, and other state and federal criminal law motions. MotionDrafting.com was thrilled to add Florida licensed attorney Amar Patel to the team in the Spring of 2017. Amar incorporates concise, well-researched, and creative legal thinking against the backdrop of his practical and academic experience.

After graduating in the top of his class from St. Thomas University School of Law (Miami), where he served as a research assistance and Notes & Comments Editor of the Law Review, Amar practiced at the Geller Law Group, P.A. There he gained practical litigation experience in civil arenas including contract disputes, corporate litigation, torts and trial preparation.

With an eye toward focusing his efforts on legal researching, writing, and academics, Amar accepted a position with St. Thomas University School of Law and during his tenure enjoyed roles as Teaching Fellow, Associate Director of Academic Success, and Professor of Legal Research & Writing. Amar’s practical and academic experience make him a unique asset for any litigator whether freshly admitted to the Bar or a veteran of the practice for whom MotionDrafting.com was designed to serve.
